To ensure world-class care for a growing number of patients, Novato Community Hospital clinicians have identified the need for a new Mobile C-Arm imaging device — the latest generation of X-ray technology. The C-Arm comprises an X-ray source and an image intensifier or flat-panel detector that can produce images from almost any angle.
Medical imaging devices — once used primarily as diagnostic tools — are playing an increasingly important role in guiding a variety of surgical and interventional procedures. For example, imaging technology is employed to accurately position prostheses (e.g., hip and knee replacements) during orthopedic surgery, to properly place cardiovascular devices such as pacemakers, stents, and catheters, and to precisely target medications for spinal pain management.
"Clear, detailed images are critical to everything we do. The Mobile C-Arm imaging device is an important tool for easily capturing the high-quality images we need to ensure the best possible outcomes for traditional surgeries and advanced interventional procedures. This essential technology will have an immediate and lasting impact on patient care."
