You can also schedule your visit online through the provider’s profile.   Our directory includes clinicians who are:  - Sutter hospital medical staff - Members of medical groups with our medical foundations - Members of independent practice associations that participate in our clinical initiatives Physicians don’t pay a fee to be included in our directory. We update the directory regularly to provide timely and accurate information. Frequently Asked Questions **How can I tell if a doctor is accepting new patients?** You can see a provider’s availability listed in their profile. If they’re available, their profile will say “accepting new patients.” You can also filter your search to only show providers who are accepting new patients. Please note, physicians that work in an environment that doesn’t accept appointments, such as the ER, will not show this information.  **How can I tell if the doctor’s office accepts my health plan?** Providers who are part of Sutter-affiliated medical groups include a list of accepted health plans in their profiles. For other physicians in the directory, you’ll need to contact the doctor’s office or your health plan to confirm your coverage. This information can change rapidly, so it’s always a good idea to confirm whether your health plan — including the plan name and type — is currently accepted. **How do I make an appointment with the physician?** You can use the phone number listed in the provider’s profile to schedule an appointment. For many providers, you can also book an appointment online. New patients can select an available time slot included in the provider’s profile. Current patients can schedule a visit through [My Health Online](https://www.sutterhealth.org/patient-resources/my-health-online). You will likely be contacted by the physician’s office before your appointment to confirm details of your visit and your health plan coverage. **How can I find a doctor who speaks my language?** You can filter your provider search by what languages the provider speaks.
