Finding a Pediatrician Who’s Like Family # Finding a Pediatrician Who’s Like Family * * * 2023 The Chawla family moved to the U.S. when their daughter Tanya was just 6 weeks old. With the support system of their extended family left behind in India, and both parents juggling demanding careers, what they needed from a pediatrician in their new community was a tall order. Harleen and Jagjit Chawla wanted a doctor who could be an extension of the family. One who was dedicated to partnership, someone they could lean on, who would listen without judgement and who would be responsive and communicative. They found all that and more in Sutter pediatrician Navneet Singh, M.D. Now Tanya is 11 and they have a 3 ½-year-old son, Zane. Over the years, Dr. Singh has partnered closely with the family, interacting through messaging, video, phone calls, and of course, the routine well checks for both children. He also connected the family to pediatric specialists for various health issues over the years. “The moment we met Dr. Singh we felt, this is it. It was that whole connection. Somebody we could completely rely on, whose advice is going to be sound,” Harleen says.
