Sutter care centers have a number of ongoing support groups for Alzheimer’s patients and their loved ones at several locations throughout Northern California. Taking part in a group can help caregivers and others find ways to cope, get support, reduce isolation, learn how to deal with challenges and obtain additional information. In some cases, support groups for patients run concurrent with support groups for caregivers.
Many of our support groups are offered through a partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association, an organization focused on Alzheimer’s care, support, education and research. Various support groups for patients, family members, friends and caregivers include:
- Alzheimer’s Group (for family and friends)
- Caregiver Support Group (held in partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association)
- Caring for Elders
- Early Stage Alzheimer’s and Dementia Support Group (held in partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association)
- Mindfulness Group
