**Adolescent Inpatient Eating Disorder Program**

The Adolescent Inpatient Eating Disorder program at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center provides a safe, supportive environment for adolescents and their families. The program emphasizes proper nutrition and weight maintenance, using the HOPE and PATH Workbook Programs and a level system for motivation. Adolescents attend daily sessions with psychiatrists, nurses and mental health staff while dietitians and social workers create a transition plan. Family involvement includes weekly therapy, meals and bimonthly support groups to promote long-term recovery.

**Adolescent Outpatient Eating Disorder Program**

The Center for Anorexia and Bulimia at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center offers the Bay Area’s only day treatment program for adolescents in advanced stages of eating disorder recovery. The program provides structure to support continued growth and a smooth transition back to daily life. The program features daily activities like cognitive and dialectical behavioral therapies, process groups, yoga, relaxation and creative therapies. Participants also have regular individual sessions with a psychiatrist, dietitian and family therapist.

**Adult Inpatient Eating Disorder Program**

The Adult Inpatient Eating Disorder program at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center offers full support, education and therapy for adults with anorexia and bulimia. We use a holistic approach, combining nutritional support with cognitive and emotional therapy to treat the whole person. You’ll receive medical refeeding support, learn to understand your triggers and get help with family dynamics. We also address co-occurring issues like depression and PTSD so you can develop coping skills for long-term recovery.

**Adult Outpatient Eating Disorder Program**

The Adult Outpatient Eating Disorder program at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center supports individuals in advanced recovery by providing structure and guidance for ongoing progress. Participants attend daily group sessions and return home in the evenings, with no sessions on weekends. The program focuses on relapse prevention and developing coping skills to help patients recognize and manage their triggers. Led by experienced clinicians, it fosters healing, self-discovery and a healthier relationship with food.
