Our Newborn Connections program at CPMC is here to help you get off to a great start. We offer in-person and online consultations, phone advice, virtual support groups and breast pump rentals.     In-person or virtual lactation consultations are available for detailed questions or concerns about breastfeeding. Wondering if your milk supply is adequate, whether you have a breast infection, why your baby isn’t latching and worries about a newborn’s weight are common issues a lactation consultant can help with. Our support staff returns call Monday through Friday, 10:00 – 4:00 pm. Our popular breastfeeding support groups are held twice weekly at our Newborn Connections clinic, led by members of our lactation support team. Items are available at our Van Ness Center at 1100 Van Ness Ave. Call [415-600-2229](tel:+4156002229) for questions or to order.  **High-Risk Infant Follow-Up Program**  Our High-Risk Infant Follow-Up Program is available at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center, CPMC and Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento. It supports NICU graduates who were born very premature, at a very low birthweight or critically ill. During each visit, a multidisciplinary team checks your baby's growth, watches how they move and play and assesses their feeding and nutrition. Standardized developmental tools help track milestones, and the team asks about any concerns you may have. Appointments are typically scheduled for 6 months, 12 months and 2 to 3 years after discharge, timed to your baby's key developmental stages. If any delays come up, our team connects you with early intervention services. Findings are also shared with your child's pediatrician, and care is coordinated so everyone stays on the same page. These visits are one part of your baby's ongoing care, working alongside your pediatrician's regular checkups.
