Coming Home Hospice

Coming Home Hospice (CHH) is a residential hospice program providing care and support for people facing terminal illness and their families. When care at home is no longer an option, we offer a safe, loving and warm place for your loved one to reside during the final period of life. Caregivers provide 24-hour nursing and personal care in a home-like atmosphere. Families at CHH are then free from care and safety issues, so they can focus on their loved one. We are here when end-of-life issues seem insurmountable.

CHH provides personalized, palliative 24-hour hospice, medical, nursing and certified-aide care. All of our professional staff is specifically hospice-trained. Services include psycho-social counseling and assistance, volunteer support, personal care assistance, home-cooked meals, laundry services, medication monitoring and assistance, spiritual counseling and religious services, recreational activities and entertainment. All rooms have a telephone and cable television. Friends and family can visit daily.

Our Building

Coming Home Hospice is a beautiful, home-like residence with 15 beds, located in the renovated convent of the Most Holy Redeemer Parish in San Francisco’s Castro district. In the mid 1980s, volunteers contributed thousands of hours to CHH’s development, fundraising and renovation and helped build the beautiful deck and multiple indoor common areas adorned with stained glass and original art. CHH first opened its doors on March 2, 1987.
