Adding to your family is an exciting milestone in life. Expecting multiples is unique and presents different challenges than a pregnancy with one child. If you plan to deliver at Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento, you can join our Parents of Multiples Program (POMs). POMs provides supportive care to help meet your physical and emotional needs if you’re having twins, triplets, quads or more. Our team is here to work alongside your obstetrician, offering reassurance and a helping hand through your pregnancy and beyond.

POMs is a free program designed to support parents of multiple newborns by providing access to specialists, weekly support groups and opportunities to connect with other parents. The care is patient-driven to help ensure you’re getting what you need.

Our teams meet you where you are with services including:

• Nutritional support and guidance from registered dieticians.
• International board-certified lactation consultants who help develop a feeding plan for your infants.
• Licensed clinical social workers to counsel you as well as to help with baby supplies.
• Tours of the birthing center and neonatal intensive care unit at Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento (SMCS).
• Weekly support groups that provide practical advice from the POMs team.
• The opportunity to develop long-term relationships with other families of multiples.
