Cataract Care Services

Cataracts are a natural part of aging, and almost everyone will develop them at some point. They occur when the lens in your eye becomes cloudy from natural proteins that build up over time. As the condition progresses, it affects your vision.

Cataract treatment varies depending on how severe the condition is. If you have mild cataracts, you may just need a new eyeglass prescription. More severe cases often require surgery to remove the cataracts and restore your vision.

Ophthalmologists in the Sutter Health network are recognized, highly trained leaders in the field of cataract surgery. Using the latest technology procedures, including phacoemulsification, doctors use a small suture-less incision to remove the lens and replace it with foldable intraocular lenses for a fast, full recovery.

Our surgical team uses only state-of-the-art equipment and has access to the latest technology, including intraoperative aberrometry, image-guided cataract surgery and femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery. We offer a full range of next-generation intraocular lenses for the implants, such as “toric” implants that correct astigmatism and multifocal and accommodative implants that assist with near-vision (presbyopia).
