Experiencing a medical emergency clarifies the importance of having quick access to excellent critical care. Thanks to our donors, two Sutter Health affiliates expanded their emergency medicine resources to ensure that the highest level of care is always available.
Expanded emergency and intensive care units: In the wake of a global pandemic, this highly-anticipated project provides greater access to meet the growing community’s demand for emergency services, critical-care rooms, and interventional cardiac and neuro procedures.

Emergency department: Donor dollars made several upgrades to the emergency department including purchasing a Stryker gurney, procedure chair, trauma base software, glidescope, portable vital signs monitor and digital voice recorder. Sutter Davis Hospital is also expanding access to several parts of the hospital, including emergency services, thanks to donor support.
Vital signs and imaging monitors: Philanthropy helps us put the very best tools in the hands of clinicians faster—like vital signs and imaging monitors. This allows us to enhance patient care and treat more patients, more quickly, right here at home.
Bladder scanner and PICC line ultrasound: A peripherally-inserted central catheter (PICC) line is used to deliver medication over a long period. Thanks to your donation, innovative technology like this allows nurses to use ultrasounds to guide the insertion for more successful attempts. Because of your donation last year, we were able to purchase valuable equipment while also investing in needed equipment like this bladder scanner.
Ventilators and theravest for respiratory equipment: Critical tools like these timely ventilators, which take over the body's breathing process when disease has caused the lungs to fail, or this enhanced airway clearance system that helps to mobilize lung secretions, give patients time to fight off infections and recover.
Rural health clinic: This clinic serves patients in rural communities that are medically under-served. In addition to increasing access to those populations, the clinic also helps decrease the need to use the emergency department, and relieves emergency overcrowding at Memorial Hospital Los Banos.
