Description
Low bone density places a person at risk for potentially serious fractures. The DEXA test is used to screen women over the age of 40 and may also be ordered after a suspicious fracture. This study explores whether physicians recommend guideline-based interventions reflecting the results of (a) DEXA, and (b) the FRAX risk score routinely provided along with the DEXA results since 2011. Physician notes will be examined for reasons given for not being guideline adherent.
