Dr. Prieto received his MD from University of Minnesota, Minneapolis and completed his family practice residency at University of Arizona, Tucson. He has been a family medicine physician in Sacramento since 1986, as well a an Associate Clinical Professor at University of California, Davis, Department of Family Practice. In 1997 he joined Sutter Medical Group and currently practices in Elk Grove. He is a patient advocate for Diabetes and is actively involved in several committees and task forces. He has been a researcher at the Sutter Institute for Medical Research since 2010.
