Volunteering Opportunities
Gift Shop
There are open volunteer positions in the Gift Shop. A volunteer will greet and assist customers with purchases, process cash and credit card sales, assist with inventory, pricing, design and display, and wrap gifts. Regular shifts are 4 hours. If interested, email jannl@sutterhealth.org.
Hospital
The hospital has very limited openings for volunteers of all ages. This is a great opportunity for students interested in a medical career, stay-at-home parents, or retired person. The applicant should be motivated, responsible, and be able to commit to a regular schedule for a minimum of one year. A volunteer will assist Emergency Department Staff or Medical/Surgical Staff by performing duties and procedures according to guidelines that contribute toward the delivery of high quality patient care. Requirements for volunteering:
- Complete the application
- Interview
- Background Check
- Medical Clearance: Complete Employee Health requires including TB, Flu and proof of immunity
- Complete Healthstream Compliance Training
- Attend Hospital New Employee Orientation
- Participate in Unit Orientation

Volunteering is a wonderful gift that can be given to patients and the community. Volunteers meet people, make new friends, use their skills and acquire new ones. They feel a sense of accomplishment and perhaps the most important benefit is satisfaction of knowing they are contributing to their community and making a difference.
