Community Health Needs Assessment
In 2019, Sutter Health conducted community health needs assessments (CHNA) to identify the significant health needs in the communities we serve.
The CHNAs were used to develop Sutter's 2019 – 2021 implementation strategies, plans that demonstrate how our hospitals will work to address the significant health needs in our communities.
Community Benefit Plan
The CHNAs and implementation strategies were used to develop the 2019 – 2021 community benefit plans. The plans are submitted to the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD) and report on annual community benefit activities including program impact and community benefit financials.
Community Benefit Annual Report
Sutter Health fulfills its non-for-profit mission inside and outside the walls of our care facilities through community health investments that meet the most pressing needs of the areas we serve, as identified in tri-annual Community Health Needs Assessments. Through collaborative partnerships with nonprofit organizations and community partners, government and Federally Qualified Health Centers, we partner to deliver innovative solutions that help improve the health of our communities, families, and patients. Our community benefit report for 2020 highlights Sutter’s collaborative strategies to address the COVID-19 pandemic and priority health needs in the Bay and Valley regions.
Soliciting for Public Comments
As your not-for-profit healthcare partner, Sutter Health is soliciting public comments to help inform the development of its 2022 Community Health Needs Assessment. You have the opportunity to review our current CHNA and corresponding implementation strategy, and submit comments on either document by March 1, 2022, to SHCB@sutterhealth.org. All comments received will be considered as part of the community input component in the development of the Sutter Health 2022 Community Health Needs Assessment.
