Choose a Plan

Check these resources to buy health insurance with access to Sutter Health.

  • Covered California connects state residents who need to purchase coverage with Medi-Cal and brand-name health insurance companies. Financial aid is available for those who qualify. Visit Covered California or call (800) 300-1506 to speak with an enrollment specialist. Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield of California plans include access to Sutter Health.

  • Sutter Health Plus is an affordable HMO health plan that offers individual and family plans to those who buy their health coverage. Plans include access to a high-quality network of providers, including many Sutter-affiliated hospitals, doctors and healthcare services. Visit Sutter Health Plus or call (855) 315-5800 to speak with Member Services.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • HMO stands for health maintenance organization. HMO plans provide access to a select network of providers at a lower cost than PPO plans. When you enroll in an HMO plan, you must select a primary care physician (PCP).

    PPO stands for preferred provider organization. PPO plans feature a broader network of providers and tend to have higher monthly premiums and out-of-pocket costs. Learn more about the basics of health plan.

  • If you receive your coverage through your employer, please can contact your human resource department for information on plans available to you.

    If your current plan doesn’t include access to the Sutter network, you can find an individual and family plan that includes Sutter through Covered California or Sutter Health Plus. If you have questions, call our customer service team at (833) 980-4141 weekdays, 7:00 am to 6:00 pm PST.

  • Sutter Health has partnered with eHealth to help you compare Medicare Advantage coverage options that give you access to a Sutter Health-aligned doctor. Find the right plan for you.

    You can also have a local licensed insurance broker contact you to answer questions about your Medicare plan options. Complete our form. Brokers are available in person, by telephone or virtually.

  • Transparency is important. We’re happy to help you find answers to common questions about healthcare costs.

    • Our cost estimator can provide estimates for common doctor and outpatient services. If you need help, please call our Cost Estimate Help Line at (866) 961-8566.

  • Once you receive your insurance card, we encourage you to schedule a new patient appointment. Your provider can talk to you about screenings and immunizations you may need. Sign up for My Health Online (MHO) to access appointments, medical records and more online or from your smartphone. For help with My Health Online, call (866) 978-8837 weekdays, 7:00 am to 7:00 pm PST.

  • To transfer your medical records to Sutter, you'll need to contact your current doctor and complete a medical records request form.
