There are other types of dementia and varying treatment options. There are also other medical issues that can cause dementia-like symptoms, such as B-12 deficiency or sleep disorders, that may be treatable. A proper diagnosis is the first step toward intervention.
Treatment
Treatment can slow the progression of symptoms in some types of dementia. If cognitive issues are being caused by another medical issue, we can often treat that successfully, which may slow down progressing dementia or even reverse it.
