    Integrated Healthcare Association Excellence in Healthcare for Commercial HMO Patients | Sutter Medical Group, part of Sutter Medical Foundation, was one of just 28 physician organizations statewide to receive a 2019 Excellence in Healthcare Award from IHA. This award recognizes physician organizations that perform in the top 50th percentile across clinical quality, patient experience and total cost of care. Mills-Peninsula Medical Group and Palo Alto Foundation Medical Group, achieved high performance (top 10th percentile) in the clinical quality and patient experience domains. While Sutter Medical Group and Gould Medical Group achieved high performance (top 10th percentile) in the patient experience domain. Finally, Gould Medical Group earned the Ronald P. Bangasser Most Improved honor for making the greatest improvements in quality and patient experience from 2017-2018 among all physician organizations in the Central Valley.

    American Stroke Association | The Summit campus earned Get with the Guidelines recognition for Stroke Care, Gold Plus, Target Stroke Elite Plus Honor Roll, and Target Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll.

    American Heart Association | Both the Alta Bates and Summit campuses earned Get with the Guidelines recognition for Heart Failure, Gold. The Summit Campus also earned a Bronze Plus STEMI Receiving designation for meeting or exceeding care recommendations for patients presenting with an ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) - a specific kind of heart attack that can be caused by coronary artery disease.

    California Department of Public Health | Both the Summit and Alta Bates campuses were recognized on the Antimicrobial Stewardship Honor Roll. Each campus earned a Silver designation for promoting optimal use of antimicrobials, preventing emergence of antimicrobial resistance and C. difficile infections, following national guidelines and reporting outcomes.

    HealthGrades | The Summit Campus was ranked among America’s 100 Best Hospitals for overall Clinical Quality and among America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Cardiac Care. The Summit and Alta Bates Campuses were both ranked among America’s 100 Best Hospitals in Critical Care and the Alta Bates Campus also anked among America’s 100 Best Hospitals in Stoke Care. This accreditation demonstrates ABSMC's commitment to patient care and outcomes.

    U.S. News & World Report | The Summit Campus was ranked among the top 51 hospitals in California, and recognized as one of the best hospitals in the San Francisco Bay Area region and #8 in the San Francisco metro area. The Summit Campus earned recognition as High-Performing in Heart Bypass Surgery, Congestive Heart Failure, and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). The Alta Bates Campus earned recognition as High-Performing in Congestive Heart Failure and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).

    Cal Hospital Compare | The Alta Bates Campus earned a place on the Maternity Care Honor Roll

    National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers | Carol Ann Read Breast Health program, at the Summit Campus, earned three year accreditation and designation from the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers, a program administered by the American College of Surgeons.

    The Joint Commission | Orthopedic program, at both Alta Bates and Summit Campuses, earned three year accreditation and designation as a Center of Excellence for Hip and Knee Replacement, from the Joint Commission.
