Answer
Here are some general guidelines on food intake during pregnancy:
Fish/Seafood:
- Eat no more than 12 oz of cooked fish a week
- Limit tuna to once per week
- Avoid shark, tile fish, or king mackerel
Alcohol:
- Not recommended in pregnancy, as no one knows how much alcohol is safe to drink during pregnancy
Caffeine:
- 1 cup of drip coffee, tea, or soda a day is ok to drink
General food guidelines:
- Avoid eating raw meat
- Cook deli meat until steaming
- Avoid unpasteurized milk and cheese
In general, eating well during your pregnancy is the best thing you can do for you and your baby.
