Low Heart Rate and Dizziness

Question:

What can cause dizziness and light-headedness? I have low blood pressure and sometimes a heart rate in the high 30s. Is this normal?

Answer:

This is a good question. In people who are professional athletes, it is quite normal to have heart rate in the upper 30s. However, in this case, the low heart rate is a result of a well-trained, efficient heart pump, and they never complain of dizziness.

In most individuals though, a heart rate in the 30s is not normal, especially if it causes them to be dizzy or tired. The low heart rate could also be the reason for your low blood pressure. My advice is to seek medical attention for your dizziness.
