Are there symptoms of a brain tumor and, if so, what are they?
Answer
A brain tumor can present in many ways, depending on the size, location, and type of tumor. Symptoms can include progressively worsening headaches or a new headache, nausea/vomiting, seizures, new neurologic symptoms such as weakness, numbness, trouble with speech, poor balance or trouble walking, trouble with coordination, vision changes, memory loss, confusion, or other cognitive/emotional symptoms.
Typically symptoms are progressive, but they can also vary or fluctuate. If you experience any of these symptoms, a consultation with your doctor (who may then refer you to a neurologist) is recommended.
