Volunteerism at Sutter Health

Sutter Health is proud of the time and energy our staff provides in the community to support health improvement efforts and other not for profit organizations. Our employees support our mission of improving the health of our communities through a variety of efforts, including:

  • Board membership
  • Fundraising
  • Physical labor
  • Food, clothing, school supply drives

March of Dimes Partnership

Each year, we work side-by-side with organizations to provide technical assistance, expertise and fundraising support. In 2013, Sutter Health network employees across our healthcare system raised more than $581,000 in 2013 to support March of Dimes research and programs to prevent premature births and improve the health of mothers and their babies. The achievement made our not-for-profit network the top healthcare fundraising team for the March of Dimes nationwide for the fourth consecutive year. Over the past 16 years, our employees have raised more than $6 million for the March of Dimes.

Baseball Field Makeover

Grant Union High School’s varsity baseball field has been transformed into a "field of dreams" by a Sutter Health donation and volunteers from the Sacramento River Cats, Sutter Health, Grant Union High School, Twin Rivers Unified School District and the Del Paso Heights community.
