Somya Jalan, M.D., FAAP

Dr. Jalan's philosophy centers on providing family‑centered care that supports the health and well‑being of the whole child. She is dedicated to building strong partnerships with families grounded in mutual respect, open communication, and an appreciation for each family’s unique values and cultural preferences. Dr. Jalan is committed to practicing evidence‑based medicine while recognizing that every child is different. By combining the latest research and clinical guidelines with her clinical experience and the family’s insight into their child, she develops personalized care plans tailored to each child’s needs. She prides herself on being accessible and responsive, ensuring families feel supported between visits and confident reaching out with questions or concerns. Her goal is to empower parents with the knowledge and confidence to make informed decisions about their child’s health, while providing compassionate, comprehensive care at every stage of development.

Outside of Medicine, Dr. Jalan is a Southern California native who has made the Bay Area home with her husband and daughter. When she's not in the office, you'll find her exploring the outdoors—whether at the beach, on a hiking trail, or discovering new coffee shops and restaurants around the Bay. She enjoys dancing, reading, and traveling, though these days much of her free time is happily spent keeping up with her energetic toddler.
