Danger Signs During Pregnancy
Pregnancy is an exciting and sometimes overwhelming time. While many changes are perfectly normal, certain symptoms should prompt a call to your healthcare provider right away. It’s always better to be cautious when it comes to your health and your baby’s well-being. If you notice any of the following signs, don’t wait! Get in touch with your care team:
- Baby does not move for more than one day after the 20th week or there's decreased fetal movement
- Bleeding or spotting from your vagina
- Blurred vision, spots or flashes of light, with or without a headache
- Continuous leaking of small amounts of fluid or a gush of water from the vagina
- Diarrhea, nausea or vomiting lasting longer than 24 hours
- Five or more uterine contractions in one hour before 36 weeks
- Injury to your stomach
- Involvement in a car accident
- Pain or burning when urinating, or frequent urination
- Red, hot and painful area on your calf or behind your knee
- Severe headaches or difficulty seeing
- Sores or blisters on your genitals
- Sudden, severe swelling of your hands, feet or face
- Sudden or continuous severe abdominal pain or cramping
- Symptoms of a vaginal infection: itching, burning or unusual discharge
- Temperature over 100.4°F lasting more than 24 hours
