A Team Approach

A diabetes diagnosis can be scary, but it can also be the start of a journey toward better health. Doctors, nurses, dietitians and diabetes educators at Eden Medical Center partner with you to manage diabetes and restore and maintain your health.

Leveraging the expertise of our multidisciplinary Diabetes Council, we use a team approach and best practices to address all aspects of diabetes treatment and management. We offer a wide range of programs and services, including:

Informal classes and telephone support programs to answer your questions and help you monitor glucose levels, blood pressure and other health indicators.
Weight management and fitness programs to help you lose weight and get active.
Advanced specialty care for diabetic complications.

We also provide special services for pregnant women who develop gestational diabetes, ensuring mom and baby stay healthy throughout pregnancy and after birth.

Diabetes is one of the leading causes of illness and death in the U.S. today, but it was uncommon just 60 years ago. Research is critical to slow down this growing health problem and treat the 29 million Americans who have it. Diabetes occurs when the body doesn’t make or use the hormone insulin properly. Cells don’t get the energy they need, and sugar from food – called glucose – builds up in the blood. Obesity is a major risk factor for type 2 diabetes and is epidemic in this country.
