Research suggests that breastfeeding can lower your child’s risk of developing asthma, ear infections, eczema, Type 2 diabetes and leukemia, according to the United States Department of Health and Human Services. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends breastfeeding your child for at least 12 months, and feeding only breast milk to your child for the first six months of their lives.
