Role Description

Gift Shop volunteers are vital to the volunteer program. MPMC maintains gift shops on both campuses, Burlingame and San Mateo. Proceeds from sales go toward healthcare scholarships for county residents and MPMC staff and help support MPMC’s medical facilities. Volunteer duties include becoming familiar with the products for sale, keeping displays neat and dusted, making sure prices are easy to find, restocking, and other tasks as assigned. Volunteers will be trained on how to open and close the shop, do cash and credit transactions, and reconcile the day’s revenue and receipts. The Burlingame Gift Shop also manages “Baby Sprouts,” MPMC’s breast pump rental program for new mothers.
