Volunteers should be warm, friendly, and respectful and be comfortable interacting with people of all ages, backgrounds, languages, and cultures. Volunteers are on their feet during their shifts. It’s important they know the location of departments to provide directions. Being resourceful and proactive are valued traits in our volunteers. They receive training to respond appropriately to various situations, some of which may be stressful. They may assist transportation volunteers as needed. They may also act as a liaison between patients and MPMC admitting staff.
