Spiritual Support Volunteer at Mills-Peninsula Medical Center

Some are needed in the medical center to serve as Eucharistic ministers. The Chaplain’s Office is also looking for volunteers who would be willing to play music at the hospital (harp, digital piano, guitar, etc.), decorate the meditations rooms quarterly, and send out an inspirational message to staff weekly. Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

• Excellent hearing, vision and speech.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Ability to effectively communicate with guests and staff.
• Ability to push a cart of supplies throughout the facility.
• Must be at least 18 years old

Training

• Meet with Chaplain

• Apply online
• Attend a Virtual Information Meeting (90-minutes)
• Complete appropriate health testing and drug test (in person with our Employee Health Department; no charge to applicant)
• Pass a background check (completed online through an outside agency; no charge to applicant)
• Interview Virtually with Volunteer Services staff (45-minutes)
• Attend a Virtual orientation (2 hours)
• Complete on-line training on your own computer on your own time (~7 hours)
• Complete specific service area training (time is variable depending on the assignment)
