Role Description
Volunteers make sure chairs are available to patients’ family members or friends when requested. Volunteers in this area should be warm and friendly and interact professionally with patients, guests, and staff. They must be able to push wheelchairs over sometimes lengthy distances. Volunteers support staff by occasionally doing errands--for the lab, gift shop, and other departments. Being resourceful and proactive are valued traits.

Qualifications
- Friendly
- Outgoing
- Good communication skills
- Focus on customer service
- Basic understanding of English
- Ability to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time
- Ability to push a wheelchair and/or cart
Training
- Apply online
- Attend a Virtual Information Meeting (90-minutes)
- Complete appropriate health testing and drug test (in person with our Employee Health Department; no charge to applicant)
- Pass a background check (completed online through an outside agency; no charge to applicant)
- Interview Virtually with Volunteer Services staff (45-minutes)
- Attend a Virtual orientation (2 hours)
- Complete on-line training on your own computer on your own time (~7 hours)
- Complete specific service area training (time is variable depending on the assignment)
Volunteering Shifts
3 hours, Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 6:00 pm; Saturday-Sunday, 11:00 am - 5:00 pm
