Fellow Research and Scholarly Activities
Each fellow is required to participate in scholarly projects, ranging from case reports, clinical vignettes, presentations at both regional and national conferences, quality improvement, and/or involvement in a larger scale, IRB approved project.
Our fellows have gone on to present at many national and international society meetings, published manuscripts in original research and clinical vignettes.
Support for Fellow Scholarships
- Each fellow meets with the program director to discuss interests and help identify projects aligned with their career goals.
- CPMC provides both statistical and IRB support for fellow research projects. Resources are available for fellows involved in projects at the Palo Alto Medical Foundation Research Institute and the Sutter Health Center for Health System Research. Sutter Health’s Institutional Review Board oversees research involving human subjects.
- CPMC provides financial support for residents to present their projects at national meetings and conference
- Bi-annually, each fellow provides a review and status of their research projects. This conference is designed to provide an interactive forum for researchers to update the division regarding their projects and to receive feedback as well.
- Fellows will also have an opportunity to showcase their scholarly projects during the annual CPMC GME-wide Research Day
