Designed for Your Goals
Launch your career in hematology and medical oncology with comprehensive clinical, educational and research experiences designed to challenge and inspire you. A wide variety of cases and diverse patient populations provide the variety of clinical experiences and education needed to pursue either clinical or academic practice.
Our program accepts one fellow per year, offering personalized attention that sets us apart. Here, you’ll create your schedule and design your rotations within Outpatient Hematology and Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Radiology services and in the Sutter Health California Pacific Medical Center (CPMC) Cancer Center, accredited by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer.

Full-Spectrum Clinical Training
Our fellowship program provides thorough training in the full range of hematology and oncology cases, from common malignancies to rare diagnoses. Rotate through our many services, focusing on your interests.

Special Patient Populations
The patient population here is diverse, both ethnically and socioeconomically. Our broad referral base includes outpatient primary care clinics, CPMC emergency rooms and other Northern California hospitals.


Master Skills Using Our Simulation Lab
Using models in our mobile simulation lab, learn techniques for bone marrow biopsies and lumbar punctures before performing procedures on patients.

Collaborative Didactics
Participate in weekly didactics, our journal club, clinical case conferences and teaching rounds in our inpatient hematology/oncology ward.

Vibrant Research Community
Join cancer-related research and develop your own project under faculty supervision. Learn to design and conduct clinical trials, analyze results and submit abstracts to national or international meetings and peer-reviewed journals. We also provide the opportunity to join basic and translational research focusing on melanoma, glioblastoma and breast cancer.
