Dear Residency Candidate,

On behalf of the faculty and administration of Sutter Roseville Medical Center, I’d like to convey our sincerest appreciation for your interest in our new ACGME-accredited Anesthesiology Residency Program. As you look through the information on these pages, you’ll learn more about what sets our program, our hospital and our organization apart.

The faculty and staff of our residency program are committed to providing our residents with a rich educational experience that focuses on clinical excellence and humanism.

Our didactic program (including lectures, simulation, objective structured clinical examinations, and standardized oral examinations) focuses not only on preparation for certification examinations, but also comprehensive knowledge of the specialty, an aptitude for research and quality improvement, and intellectual curiosity. Sutter Roseville Medical Center offers clinical exposure to a broad range of cases, varying from the simple to the significantly complex, that defines the core of modern anesthetic practice. Additionally, the Sutter Health system offers an extensive network of training sites that will add to the already wide-ranging experience that Sutter Roseville Medical Center provides.

As a not-for-profit, integrated healthcare system that span across a large swathe of the Northern California and Central Coast regions, Sutter Health offers considerable resources for all our residents, including those in anesthesiology. Located midway between the San Francisco Bay and the Sierra Nevada mountains, the main campus is uniquely situated in one of the most desirable areas to live in California, and indeed the entire country. We aim not only to provide a top-notch educational experience, but also to develop highly skilled and caring physicians who serve the needs of their patients and the community.
