Message From Our Program Director

Dear Fellowship Candidate,

vishal-raj-pulm
Vishal Raj, M.D.

Thank you for considering the Sutter Roseville Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine Fellowship. Choosing a training program is one of the most important decisions of your career, and our goal is to provide an environment where you will be challenged, supported, and inspired to reach your full potential.

Our fellowship is built around a simple promise: to train compassionate pulmonologists and intensivists who combine outstanding clinical skills with the judgment, adaptability, and leadership needed in today’s medicine.

The program offers an immersive three-year curriculum within a single hospital, with rotations through the Medical, Surgical, Neuro, and Cardiac ICUs, as well as inpatient pulmonary consultations and continuity-based outpatient clinics. Fellows also receive protected time for research and electives, ensuring balanced exposure across critical care, longitudinal pulmonary practice, and scholarly development.

What makes this fellowship distinctive is our mentorship culture. Our board-certified faculty are approachable, engaged, and deeply invested in your growth as a clinician, educator, and researcher. You will find that your ideas matter, your feedback is heard, and your professional development is actively supported.

We are proud to train physicians who are not only clinically excellent but also reflective, collaborative, and forward-thinking. If you are seeking a program that will challenge you, support you, and prepare you to lead with both competence and compassion, we look forward to meeting you.

Warm regards,
Vishal Raj, M.D.
