Katharine Padrez, M.D.

Patient- and Family-Centered Care means that I share information with you, encourage your collaboration, and honor your choices. This approach is fundamental not only to how I care for your child, but also to how I organize my practice. I first and foremost work with you to prevent illness, keeping your child healthy with a balance of good nutrition, exercise, and activities to stimulate imagination and intellect. I track developmental progress at each well visit to ensure that your child meets appropriate milestones. I aim to recognize and appreciate the cultural context in which your child lives, and understand the many different and valuable approaches to parenting. If illness or injury does strike, I work with you to comfort, diagnose, and treat your child with as few tests and medicines as possible, with an emphasis on evidence-based decisions and current pediatric research. It is a privilege to partner with you in the care of your child. It is a role that comes with great responsibility and one that I enjoy immensely.

Outside of Medicine, Dr. Padrez enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and three children, exploring all the Bay Area has to offer. As a Stanford football season ticket holder, you can find her on the sidelines of most games (Go Card!), and she also enjoys cooking, sailing, running, and seeing live music.
