Frequently Asked Questions

When should I consider getting mammogram?

The American Cancer Society suggests women at average risk get a screening mammogram at age 45. Women at higher-than-average risk should have the choice to get a mammogram earlier, at age 40. Mammograms are the best way to detect breast cancer early when the five-year survival rate is 99 percent, according to the CDC.

How do I prepare for a mammogram?

Wear a comfortable top that’s easy to remove. Don’t use deodorant or antiperspirant on the day of your mammogram. The chemicals can show up as white spots. Try to schedule your exam after your menstrual period when your breasts are not tender.
