Frequently Asked Questions
Can I eat and drink before my procedure?
If you are having general anesthesia, do not eat or drink anything after 12 midnight the night before your surgery, including gum, candy or mints, unless otherwise instructed.
If you are having conscious sedation for a pain procedure, you may eat and drink up to six hours before your scheduled arrival.
Because food and liquids in your stomach can cause serious complications, if you do not follow these instructions, your procedure may be cancelled or delayed.
How can I find the out-of-pocket cost for a certain procedure?
You should contact your health plan directly before an anticipated procedure. Find
your plan’s customer service phone number on your insurance card.
What should I bring with me?
Bring all insurance cards, any co-payments or deductibles and your list of medications.
Also, if you are a legal guardian or conservator of a patient, please bring all legal
paperwork with you, including the Durable Power of Attorney for Healthcare.
Why Choose a Surgery Center?
Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASCs) are able to provide high quality surgery at a low
cost in a comfortable and personal atmosphere. Other reasons a surgery center may
be the perfect fit for you includes convenient scheduling, reliable service, and a
high level of professionalism. According to a US Department of Health and Human Services
survey, participants who had one of four procedures performed in a surgery center,
98% reported they were satisfied with their experience.
