Approach to care

Dr. Yamamoto's decision to become a physician was inspired by his parents' work as missionaries and their commitment to helping others. He strives to build trust quickly with patients and is committed to explaining injuries and treatment options in clear, understandable language. He encourages patients to ask questions and actively participate in treatment decisions while ensuring they are treated with dignity and respect. Dedicated to achieving the best possible outcomes, he combines clinical expertise with ongoing research, consultation, and collaboration to provide high-quality, individualized care. His goal is to help patients regain function, return to the activities they enjoy, and achieve the best possible recovery.

Professional highlights

Dr. Yamamoto is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Tenrikyo Young Men's Association. After completing his orthopedic residency at UCSF, he pursued fellowship training in orthopedic trauma at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he trained under Donald Wiss, M.D., a recognized authority in orthopedic fracture care. His expertise includes the diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of complex fractures, post-traumatic reconstruction, joint replacement surgery, fractures occurring around joint replacements, and the management of fractures in older adults. He also volunteers through church-sponsored community activities.

Outside of medicine
