Dr. Amarpreet Sandhu, DO, MBA, FASN believes that the foundation of excellent kidney and transplant care is trust, communication, and genuine partnership with patients. He is committed to building strong, trusting relationships with his patients by taking the time to understand their concerns, explain complex conditions clearly, and involve them actively in care decisions.

Dr. Sandhu approaches medicine with a patient‑centered and holistic philosophy, recognizing that kidney disease affects every aspect of a person’s life. His care integrates evidence‑based medicine with compassion, respect, and individualized treatment plans that reflect each patient’s medical needs, personal goals, and cultural background.

He completed nephrology fellowship training at the University of New Mexico and advanced transplant nephrology fellowship training at California Pacific Medical Center (CPMC). As an actively publishing physician and Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology, Dr. Sandhu remains at the forefront of advances in kidney and transplant medicine. His additional training in healthcare leadership and business administration helps him deliver care that is not only high‑quality and ethical, but also efficient, coordinated, and patient‑focused.

Community Activities

Dr. Sandhu has been deeply involved in community service and education throughout his career. He is passionate about giving back and making healthcare more accessible and understandable. He currently mentors students in the Dublin High School Biomedical Academy, helping young people explore careers in science and medicine and supporting the next generation of healthcare professionals.

For many years, Dr. Sandhu volunteered with Sikh community health initiatives, providing free medical screenings and health education at local temples. He has also delivered regular health talks on Sabrang Radio, reaching diverse audiences with practical information on kidney health and preventive care. His commitment to service has been recognized with numerous academic and community honors, including the UC Davis Community Service Award, Phi Beta Kappa, and Beta Gamma Sigma.
