Ashwin A. Balaguru, M.D.

Ashwin Balaguru, MD is a Central Valley native who is passionate about caring for the community he grew up in and is dedicated to building long-term relationships with patients and families. Dr. Balaguru believes that great medical care starts with listening. His approach is rooted in empathy, compassion, and seeing each patient as a whole person rather than a collection of symptoms or diagnoses. He takes the time to understand his patients' unique experiences, concerns, and goals, with the aim of making every patient feel heard, respected, and supported. He values partnering with patients to navigate their healthcare journey and helping them make informed decisions that align with their individual needs. One of the reasons Dr. Balaguru was drawn to Family Medicine is its broad scope and the opportunity to care for patients throughout every stage of life.

His professional interests include preventive care, chronic disease management, women's health and gynecologic care, and office-based procedures such as joint injections, skin biopsies, and other minor procedures. He strives to provide comprehensive, convenient care while serving as a trusted guide through an increasingly complex healthcare system.

Dr. Balaguru is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP)

Outside of medicine, Dr. Balaguru enjoys spending time with family and friends, hiking, playing pickleball and badminton, exploring ancient and medieval history, and enjoying board games, gaming, and science fiction and fantasy.
