Charu Puri, M.D.

Dr. Charu Puri approaches patient care with a simple goal: to treat every patient the way she would want her own family to be treated. That begins with listening—taking the time to truly understand what matters most to each person—and being fully present in those moments. She believes in clear, honest communication and thoughtful, evidence-based decision-making that reflects each patient’s unique needs and priorities. In the hospital setting, she focuses on providing coordinated, compassionate care during what can often be stressful and uncertain times, partnering closely with patients, families, and the care team. Above all, she wants her patients to feel heard, respected, and genuinely cared for.

Supporting and developing clinicians is one of the most meaningful parts of her work. As Executive Medical Director of People & Culture, Dr. Puri focuses on building a strong, connected community where clinicians feel supported in their growth, well-being, and sense of purpose. She is especially passionate about mentoring and leadership development and values working closely with clinicians at all stages of their careers as they grow into confident, thoughtful leaders. Creating space for people to learn, reflect, and thrive is incredibly rewarding to her. She believes that investing in clinicians strengthens not only teams, but also the care provided to the patients and communities they serve.

Outside of work, she enjoys traveling and experiencing new cultures, often planning trips around great food and unique local experiences. She values time with family and friends, whether that means trying a new restaurant, being outdoors, or exploring somewhere new. She also prioritizes staying active and making time to recharge, which helps her bring energy and perspective to both her personal and professional life.
