Plastic surgery is a complex and rewarding specialty encompassing not only cosmetic surgery to enhance ones appearance but also reconstructive surgery to restore ones appearance aesthetically and functionally. Plastic surgeons are highly trained to operate on the face and body. I have over 20 years of experience in reconstructive and cosmetic surgery. I began my practice at Sunnyvale Medical Clinic in 1986 after finishing my training at Stanford University Medical Center along with a cosmetic fellowship at Manhattan Eye and Ear in New York. I continued on as Sunnyvale Medical Clinic joined Palo Alto Medical Foundation and Sutter affiliates.

My approach to treating patients has always been to listen and understand not only their goals for improvement but also their concerns before determining appropriate options for treatment. It is important to have realistic expectations and use safe and reliable techniques. I believe preoperative patient education, attention to detail in surgery and careful postoperative care make for a good outcome. My goal is to provide a comfortable and safe experience, while achieving a pleasing and natural result for my patients. Being a woman, I can also relate to the unique concerns of women.

I have a special interest in breast surgery however I do a wide range of cosmetic procedures of the face and body, including abdominoplasty, liposuction, breast augmentation and reduction, eyelid surgery, facelift, rhinoplasty, and also injectables for the face -- including Restylane and Juvederm. Not only do I enjoy performing reconstruction with women after mastectomy to make them "whole again," but I am also interested in the causes of breast cancer. I have served as chair of the Environmental Health Committee for the Santa Clara County Medical Association since 1999 and explored the role of environmental toxins and nutrition in the causes and treatment of breast cancer.
