Donna A. McMillan, M.D., FAAP

As a pediatrician, Dr. Donna McMillan has the incredible privilege of supporting the growth, development, and well‑being of each child she cares for. She strongly believes that parents always strive to make the best decisions for their children, and her role is to provide education and guidance so families can make informed choices. While tests and treatments can be useful, she recommends them only when the benefits truly outweigh the risks.

Dr. McMillan's goal at the end of every visit is for families to feel confident and comfortable with the care plan they helped create. She sees tremendous opportunity for preventive medicine in pediatrics and loves caring for children of all ages—from tiny newborns to adolescents preparing to head off to college. She also believes that laughter is often the best medicine, and it is something she frequently shares with her patients during their visits.

Getting to know children and their families is a joy for her, and she looks forward to being part of their health journey.

She joined the Palo Alto Medical Foundation in 2004 and spent 12 years joyfully caring for families at the Fremont Center. When the Blossom Hill San Jose location opened in June 2016, she chose to transition her practice closer to home in the community where she spent her childhood.

She enjoys all kinds of family activities with her husband, daughter, and son, who continually teach her empathy and offer first‑hand insight into the parent experience. Her family shares a particular enthusiasm for gymnastics and baseball, and they love traveling to both new destinations and familiar favorites. When she has the gift of downtime, she enjoys reading and playing classical piano.
