I agree with the World Health Organization (WHO) regarding their definition of good health as a "state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity." It is my firm belief that our environment, social circumstances, mindset, food choices, level of physical activity, and health literacy play a major role in affecting our total state of health. I hope to treat you and your loved ones as a whole person, in the context of your lives, and not just as an isolated health problem.

I enjoy discussing non-pharmacologic strategies such as nutrition and exercise before committing my patients to lifelong prescription medications. I rarely prescribe narcotics for chronic pain and I also avoid their use short-term. Additionally, I also try to avoid psychiatric medicines that have additive potential that does not treat underlying psychological or psychiatric conditions.

I enjoy taking care of entire families in order to understand patterns and trends. I look forward to being your doctor, and more importantly, a champion of your health throughout the years to come.

I grew up in the south bay area where I enjoy our beautiful valley surrounded by sunbaked mountains. I enjoy the outdoors and like hiking local bay area trails. I hope to visit every national park. I also enjoy trying new cuisines because food adds so much flavor to life.

Dr. Vuong went to UC Berkeley where he majored in Biology and Psychology, and then attended UC Davis for medical school. After graduating from medical school, he went on to complete an Internal Medicine residency at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. In addition to English, he also speaks Vietnamese.
