About Me

Philosophy of Care

I find great joy in seeing my patients recover from illness. Some of my most rewarding visits are when patients return to share how much better they feel, the progress they’ve made in their health, or their pride in achieving personal goals such as weight loss or quitting smoking.

Family is the cornerstone of life, and my goal is to care for patients from the newborn stage through adulthood. I enjoy building long-term relationships and love watching babies and children grow into adulthood. As a new father navigating life with newborn twins, I have gained a deeper appreciation for the joys and challenges all parents experience.

I believe prevention is one of the most important aspects of medicine and a vital public health service. I make it a priority to keep my patients up to date on preventive care—such as vaccinations, screenings, and wellness checks—so we can work together to stop disease before it starts.

Being part of the Palo Alto Medical Foundation allows me to leverage advanced technology and collaborate with hundreds of other physicians to stay current with the latest medical treatments and trends. Through MyHealthOnline, I can share lab results and communicate with patients conveniently and securely, any time of day.

I enjoy seeing patients for the full spectrum of medical needs—from routine physicals and sports exams to visits for conditions such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, sore throats, and skin rashes.

Personal Interests

I attended medical school at the University of California, Los Angeles (now the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA), where I developed my passion for working with both adults and children. I completed a combined internal medicine–pediatrics residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, where my training was evenly divided between adult and pediatric medicine. My rotations included county hospitals, community clinics, children’s hospitals, and a community hospital, giving me invaluable exposure to a wide range of medical needs in diverse settings.

In 2004, I returned to the Bay Area and spent two years in private practice in San Jose, working closely with O’Connor Hospital. In addition to my clinical work, I enjoy teaching medical students from Stanford University School of Medicine as part of their internal medicine rotations.

I look forward to meeting you and your family, and to working together to support your health and wellness.

Dr Lin is married and has 3 boys (including twin boys). He enjoys outdoor activities, coaching Little League baseball, and watching the San Francisco Giants.
