Dr. Afoh-Manin is a leading spokesperson on workforce wellbeing. Her commitment to Sutter’s mission is rooted care and bold systems-level solutions that center people and protect the frontline workforce. A proud member of the “Get It Done Club,” Dr. Afoh-Manin also believes that joy is part of healing. Dr. NanaEfua Afoh-Manin is a board trained emergency physician and public health practitioner whose work sits at the intersection of medicine, technology, and community resilience.

Outside of Medicine, Dr. Afoh-Manin loves dancing, embracing the soccer mom life, exploring new spaces and places with friends, and staying grounded in community. As James Baldwin said, “Those who say it can’t be done are usually interrupted by others doing it.” She carries that spirit to every challenge —bringing imagination, grit, and heart to the work of making the impossible possible. With advanced training in AI and healthcare innovation, she also co-founded Shared Harvest Foundation, a nonprofit committed to service and public interest technologies.
