Rachel P. Wood, PA‑C

Rachel Wood, PA-C, spent a lot of time outdoors and surfing with her dad while growing up in Southern California. Those experiences gave her an early appreciation for the importance of sun protection and caring for skin over a lifetime. That perspective has stayed with her throughout her career and is part of what drew her to dermatology, particularly skin cancer prevention, early detection, and helping patients understand how they can protect their skin while still enjoying the things they love. Rachel wants her patients to feel comfortable bringing up their concerns, understand what is happening with their skin, and feel involved in their treatment decisions. She believes good care includes not only treating the condition in front of her, but also explaining the diagnosis, discussing realistic treatment options, and finding a plan that works for the individual patient. Her professional interests include general dermatology for patients of all ages, with a particular interest in full-body skin examinations, skin cancer screening, and prevention. She also enjoys treating acne, rosacea, eczema, psoriasis, hair loss, and other acute and chronic skin conditions, including patients who require treatments such as biologic therapies or isotretinoin. Procedural dermatology is also an important part of her practice, including skin biopsies and surgical excisions.

Her goal is to provide thorough, practical care while building relationships with patients that allow them to care for their skin and well-being long term.

Outside of work, Rachel enjoys spending quality time with her son and husband. She and her husband love the outdoors, exercising, hiking, and snowboarding together in the winter. She also enjoys reading
