Yichieh Shiuey, M.D.

My goal as a physician is to improve the quality of life for my patients by providing state-of-the-art surgical and medical care in the areas of vision correction, cataract surgery and the cornea.

Dr. Shiuey enjoys developing new corneal surgical techniques, spending time with his family and playing tennis.

You're in good hands with Yichieh "E.J." Shiuey, M.D., an ophthalmologist at Palo Alto Medical Foundation. Dr. Shiuey is one of a few surgeons performing laser vision correction to receive formal fellowship training in both refractive surgery (to correct focusing errors in the eye) and the cornea (the clear covering of the eye on which all laser vision correction procedures are performed).

Harvard awarded Dr. Shiuey its prestigious Heed Fellowship to pursue advanced clinical and research training in laser vision correction and corneal surgery at the Moran Vision Center of the University of Utah, one of the world's premier institutions for eye surgery.

A frequent lecturer on the subject of laser vision correction at national meetings, Dr. Shiuey has authored more than 50 scientific journal articles and book chapters. A board certified ophthalmologist, he scored in the top 1 percent of all ophthalmologists nationwide who have taken the board certification exam.
