Aaron Kinney

Dr. Aaron M. Kinney is a board‑certified family medicine physician and Department Chief of Urgent Care at Sutter Medical Group. Since joining the organization in 2016, he has provided high‑acuity urgent care in both urban and suburban settings while leading clinical teams and contributing to systemwide quality initiatives. Dr. Kinney completed his medical degree at the University of Vermont, where he earned multiple clinical honors, followed by residency at Sutter Health’s Family Medicine Program. In addition to his clinical leadership, Dr. Kinney has served on key committees including Quality, Shareholder Transition, and the Regional Behavioral Interview Team. His research experience spans early cancer detection, otolaryngology, and occupational health, with publications in the American Journal of Cardiology and Obesity. A dedicated educator, he mentors resident physicians and has taught medical students, authored exam content, and volunteered in community clinics.
