Julian Hardy McLain, MD is a board-certified hematologist and oncologist at Palo Alto Medical Foundation, part of Sutter Health in San Mateo, California. He completed his Hematology/Oncology fellowship and Internal Medicine residency at LAC+USC Medical Center, following his medical degree from Rosalind Franklin University Chicago Medical School. Dr. McLain holds a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry with Honors from Lake Forest College.
Dr. McLain’s clinical and research interests include hematologic malignancies and improving care delivery in underserved populations. His work has been presented at institutional and national forums, with peer-reviewed publications in journals such as Blood, ACG Case Reports Journal, and the Journal of Cardiovascular Pharmacology and Therapeutics. He has also contributed to multiple patents in chemical engineering prior to his medical training.
Recognized for excellence in teaching and humanistic care, Dr. McLain is a member of the Gold Humanism Honor Society and recipient of the Resident Award for Outstanding Teaching.
