Kim-Son Nguyen, M.D., MPA

Dr. Kim-Son H Nguyen is a medical oncologist and Medical Director of the Department of Hematology-Oncology at Palo Alto Medical Foundation, Sutter Health. He leads a multidisciplinary oncology program serving multiple sites across the San Francisco Bay Area and has played a key role in developing advanced cancer care services in Santa Clara.
Dr. Nguyen earned his Doctor of Medicine from Harvard Medical School and a Master of Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School, with a focus on health policy, leadership, and analytics. He completed his internal medicine residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and a hematology-oncology fellowship at Stanford University.
His clinical and research interests center on lung cancer, targeted therapies, and cancer care delivery. He serves as a principal investigator and co-investigator on multiple clinical trials. Dr. Nguyen is also deeply engaged in global oncology, having led international educational initiatives and founded the Vietnam Oncology Journal Club to advance cancer care education.
